Thomas Broad : ウィキペディア英語版 | Thomas Broad Thomas Tucker Broad (1863 – 26 January 1935)〔(【引用サイトリンク】 House of Commons constituencies beginning with "C" (part 4) )〕 was a Liberal Party politician in England. He was elected at the 1918 general election as Member of Parliament (MP) for Clay Cross in Derbyshire. Having stood as a Coalition Liberal, the "coalition coupon" ensured that there was no Conservative Party candidate, and he took the seat with a majority of 8% of the votes over his Labour Party opponent. However, at the 1922 election, he stood as a National Liberal, and faced a Liberal Party opponent as well as Labour's Charles Duncan. With the Liberals split, both candidates polled poorly, and Duncan took the seat for Labour with 58% of the votes. At the 1923 general election, with the two factions of the Liberal Party reunited, Broad stood in the Leyton East, but came third with only 28% of the votes. He did not stand for Parliament again.〔 == References ==
